Vet Update
I reviewed a vet a months ago.
Since then we have had more puppy problems. Dr. Patrick is just an ace.
Let me tell you, the more I am around him the more I like his no nonsense attitude toward pet care.
Again kudos to Dr. Patrick.

Mitchell Realty
I recently bought a house in Mitchell and have moved in. I love my new house. But, let me tell you about my realtor. I am convinced that I had the best realtor in Mitchell, SD. He is fair, honest, and trustworthy.

So let me direct you to Steve Peschong at Mitchell Realty. We tried a few others on for size and we tried a few more when buying. We are, at least I think, tough customers. Steve was always patient trying to find us the right house. Steve really seemed to care about the needs of the house and after several houses had some ideas of what we were looking for. He used solid judgement on houses to show us. Never did I feel that I was pushed into a particular house.
We put in offers on two other houses prior to the one we moved in to. One of the other houses which we really wanted came back with no offer. Which I thought from that Realtor was quite unprofessional. Well that house is still for sale.
Steve found us the house and we moved into and got us in quickly. He held our hand through a lot of the details, as we could not always get to town.
Steve Peschong truly a five corn ear Realtor who to me, is in the top tier of what he does and I can without reservation recommend him to represent you whether you are selling or buying. So feel free to call him at 605-999-4574.

The Rating: 5 Corn Ears!

Cortrust Mortgage
We had Heath as our Mortgage person.
Not a bad guy. He jumped through all kinds of hoops to get us our house in the right amount of time. We had to close in about 2 weeks and he did great.
Now for my part . . . I had everything ready to go and flipped everything back in hours, not in days.

I was really really impressed with how fast he did work, accurate numbers and everything else.
Heath Driscoll

Unclaimed Furniture in Mitchell SD Comments and Review
I have previously done a review on Unclaimed Furniture in Mitchell. And to be honest it was . . . well rather bland. I have been shopping for furniture for a bit now and have some further results.
Unclaimed furniture is my first stop. Seems like an neat idea and maybe there is a good deal. Well there is not. There is a real lack of service and desire to serve or even help the customer. To be blunt, they do not think this customer service fad is going to really catch on.
Getting help in the store when you are deciding is rather hard. Now I am only dropping about 10K in furniture. So maybe I do not have a huge order. One salesman managed to upset my wife pretty hard. My father-in-law was a commissioned salesman all his life and she wants to make sure the person who is helping gets the commission. When have gone back on specific days at the correct times to make sure we hit the correct salesperson. So when one upsets my wife . . . well that is not good. And she wanted to be sure he did NOT get the commission.
So we ordered our furniture and it would take a week to come in. I decided to wait for them to call. Well guess what. No phone call. I finally had to call them and as it turns out, they had the couch. Wow, a simple and quick phone call letting me know when to come pick it up. Would have been nice.
I was all set to purchase a table from them . . . guess that is not going to happen.
The rating for Unclaimed Furniture in Mitchell is down to a one, the lowest rating possible.

Fulton State Bank
Since I am finally in Mitchell and not just visiting everyday . . . it has come time to change my bank.
My main choices were one that were close.
I looked at Fulton State Bank, Wells Fargo, Cor Trust, and Home Federal bank all in Mitchell.
Fulton is located on Havens across from Cor Trust. While they were nice people and quite helpful . . . they have one problem.
Fulton State Bank requires that you have an account with them for three months before allowing you to have a debit card. For me this was a deal killer. I seldom use checks. Therefore, I rely on my debit card.
The positives: free checking without any fees. Checks cost about the same as everything else.
The other negatives: if you have a checking account with intrest they have lots of fees if you go below. Enough fees that you will lose all your intrest for a year. The website is also really really bad with almost no information.
Overall, it is typical bank building. The people are really nice there and they let you sit down while opening an account (this means there will be someone who does not.
Overall this should be 2.5 Corn Ears.
