My boyfriend and i live together. he has a 24 month old little girl. she is just starting to learn to talk and she calls me mommy. after every time i correct her with my name however she wont say it. i dont want to offend the her birth mother. she knows my name if someone asks where i am however, she just insists on calling me mommy. please help any tips would be great.

this is a tougher one than you all think....
i have been and am the mom on the other end of this situation. it hurts! i think you were very mature in the fact that you tried to correct her. its nice to see you care about the real moms feelings too. HOWEVER as painful as this is to the real parent, hopefully she will realize that her daughter feels safe and comfortable with you, and should be happy that her daughter has so many people who love her that much. I don't think there is much you can do to change it, embrace it and hope the other mom does too.
